We are nearing the mark of one of what could very well prove to be the defining moment for electric vehicles in the 21st century. With the handover of Tesla 3 cars to 30 people at an event scheduled to take place on 29th July of 2017, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, would be ushering in a new era for sustainable cars.

Until now, electric vehicles have never been considered mass-market car as they looked ugly and inefficient at the same. But due to a breakthrough in battery technology, Elon Musk promises the whole world a sustainable $35000 car, a car for the masses. With its appealing design and long mileage, Tesla Model 3 could be a winner for anyone who purchases this beauty. But customers are on edge due to Tesla missing a lot of production targets.

Tesla is still a small company, so it is still struggling to keep up with the hype it generated last year with the announcement of the Tesla 3. It has already received pre-orders of 500000, of which they are going to hand out 30 of the model 3 cars on the 29th.

Despite various production failures, Elon Musk remains optimistic about delivery: The first production Model 3 rolled off the assembly line at Tesla’s Fremont factory earlier this month. Musk has said production is expected to grow exponentially: 100 cars in August, more than 1,500 by September, and then 20,000 per month by December.

This is the first consumer car that is deciding to cut the middleman out of car buying and directly trying to sell to consumers. With every aspect of the car being made customizable through the Tesla website, they are trying an innovative approach to win the hearts and minds of the masses. The company already has nearly 3000 Superchargers in North America and is expecting to double this number by the end of 2017.
