Apple Spends More on iPhone 14 Pro Max Production

Analysts say the production of the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs Apple only 3.7% more than that of the iPhone 13 Pro Max.  

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple costs more to produce the iPhone 14 Pro Max than in the past.

The production of the latest iPhone costs Apple about 464 dollars, slightly more than the predecessor due to changes to the chip, display and camera.  

The switch from A15 Bionic to A16 Bionic result in an $11 increase in costs, which accounts for 20% of the total, up from 19% last year.

As for the photographic sector, the addition of the 48 MP sensor has increased the cost of the camera category by $6.30.  

Counterpoint estimates that the cost of Apple-designed components increase for the latest model, with 22% of BOM coming from those items.

The increase in cost for the iPhone 14 Pro Max compared to the previous model materializes in an increase of just over $17 in total.
