Minecraft has recently surpassed the milestone of selling over 300 million copies, making it one of the best-selling games in history.
Grand Theft Auto V, a popular game, lags with over 185 million copies sold.
This achievement was announced during a Minecraft Live event where new features were unveiled, including a trial chamber with traps and mobs.
Mojang Studios' head, Helen Chiang, highlighted the incredible success of Minecraft as it approaches its 15th anniversary.
Minecraft was first made available to the public by game developer Markus Persson (Notch) in 2009, though the official release came later in 2011.
New DLCs, including a Star Wars: Path of the Jedi and Planet Earth DLC, are being developed for the game.
