Netflix Now Has 232.5 Million Subscribers Globally

In its latest financial report for the first quarter, Netflix said it has added 1.75 million paid subscribers.

The numbers come after Netflix introduced its ad-filled option for a lower cost. The ad-supported tier catch pushed the subscriber increase.

This represents a 4.9 per cent year-over-year increase compared to the challenging first quarter of 2022.

In the last quarter of 2022, the streaming platform added 7.66m. And now the total count of global paid members stands at 232.5m.

Subscribers rose 100,000 in the U.S. and Canada, 640,000 throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa and 1.5 million in the Asia-Pacific region.

Access to the streaming platform and the slashing of prices helped engagement grow in India by up to 30% year on year.
