Nintendo's operating profit fell 15% YoY to 504.38 billion yen ($3.73 billion) in the year ended March.

The company forecasts a further 11% drop in profit to 450 billion yen for the current financial year.

The Switch has been on the market for 7 years and has sold more than 125 million units.

Investor attention is focused on a potential successor to the Switch, but a launch of a "Switch 2" or new hardware is ruled out for this fiscal year.

The success of "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" has helped Nintendo diversify beyond its core console business.

"The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" is launching on Friday, and orders for the game are progressing well.
