Sony's Temperature-changing Controller

In a bid to enhance players' experience, Sony has filed a new patent for a controller that aims to deliver a much more immersive gaming experience.

As reported by Exputer, the new patent application suggests that the PlayStation controller would simulate what is going on in the game with temperature feedback.

The controller will be made of plastic materials that are hard to break or bend, similar to the current DualSense controllers.

Describing the temperature-changing aspect, the filing states adding a sealed gas bubble in the elastic member.

When finally approved, players could feel the controller warming up or cooling down based on the game they are playing.

'The invention includes a controller with an elastically deformable sensor that detects the user's contact or deformation and outputs an electric signal based on the detected action, said Sony."
