WhatsApp Expands Channels in 7 Countries

WhatsApp has expanded its Channels feature to seven more countries, including Egypt, Chile, and Malaysia.

Channels allow one-way conversations where admins can send followers text, photos, and videos.

The feature was initially launched for Singapore and Colombia users and focused on providing information from NGOs and local authorities.

Instagram also globally expanded its Channels feature but with a focus on creating a communication channel for creators and fans.

Additionally, WhatsApp introduced a standalone app for Wear OS, enabling users to reply to chats and answer VoIP calls.
