Xiaomi is discontinuing its MIUI operating system after 13 years and introducing a new HyperOS OS.

HyperOS will have a global release and debut on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series.

The new operating system is designed to connect Xiaomi's vast product range, spanning over 200 categories.

Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, noted that the development of HyperOS began in 2017 to support their ecosystem of devices.

HyperOS is based on a combination of advanced Android and a self-developed Vela system, focusing on IoT integration.

While Xiaomi hasn't revealed the software's appearance or new features, more information is expected with the launch of the Xiaomi 14 series.
