It’s been just more than a year since AirSelfie made its debut, earning more than $600,000. It is basically a selfie drone in a smartphone case. AirSelfie2, the second device from the manufacturers, was introduced this Tuesday at CES 2018 in Las Vegas. The AirSelfie2 is the renewal of the old portable flying camera. The new pocket-sized AirSelfie2 comes with a 12MP camera while the field of view of the camera is increased to 85°, and the battery life is improved by 50% as well.

The AirSelfie was capable of flying for about three to five minutes at most. The device was heavily criticized for that short flight period. Some users were also unhappy about the 4GB storage capacity. Now the storage of the upgraded version of AirSelfie2 is quadrupled to 16GB.

Just like its predecessor, the AirSelfie2 can be controlled via an application. The app comes with various modes of Selfie and Flight that can be adjusted according to the type of pictures the user wants to take. The company claims that the device can attain a height of about 60 feet from its base and it can also hover in one spot. It is possible to retrieve it out of the air, just by hand.

The new AirSelfie is about the same size and weight as the previous version. The device weighs just over a couple of ounces and comes in a dimension of 3.72 x 2.71 x 0.45 inches.

In the box, the AirSelfie2 comes with a power bank for recharging, a USB cable for connecting to a computer, and a protective bumper. It will be made available in four colors, silver, black, gold/rose gold. It is expected to hit the market by March 2018 and the price is expected to be around $300.

When you’re looking to capture life’s important moments, dramatic scenery, or large group shots, you want a combination of best-in-class technology and ease of use. The AirSelfie2 delivers precisely that. – Stefano Cabella, CEO
