Alibaba-owned DingTalk app has launched its English version in India and Malaysia. The enterprise chat app launch caters to the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), announced on January 15 via its news site Alizila. This will add competition to the growing enterprise chat and collaboration app market in India. The chat app has been hitherto limited to Chinese market only. This is the first push outside China since its launch three years ago in April 2015.
The company is all set to hit the launch of the app in other south-east Asian countries and a Japanese version of the App is also currently under development. Wang added - “We believe that this is the future of the workplace, and we see immense potential in helping businesses redefine their organizational connectivity”.
The app helps to improve the communicating gap between its vendor companies and other independent SMEs. It permits to have one-on-one and group chats as well as audio and video conferencing enabling up to 3,000 parties in a single call with integrated email, chats and message reminder feature and document storage. Voice and video calls
are available only via VoIP for outside China users.
The app is available for iOS, Mac and Windows operating system
. The App claims to have 5 million clients till date, but despite such mass users in China it failed to take on WeChat which has 800 million users. The app can also send files up to 700 MB and is to compete with other big services as Slack, WeChat, and others. As reported by a Chinese website Weibo
