Samsung Electronics has applied for a trademark at EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) for the brand name TISPLAY. The trademark was published on 16 January 2019 and was requested via the German patent office Lippert Stachow from Bergisch Gladbach.
Samsung Tisplay is classified as Class 9 and Class 35. The description includes: ‘software for displaying virtual advertisements, software for generating virtual images, software for computers, tablets, and mobile phones.
For the time being, it is unclear whether it will become a consumer app for your smartphone or tablet or whether the software is solely intended for companies for generating and displaying virtual advertisements. Next month the MWC 2019 will take place, and possibly we will hear more about Samsung Tisplay here.
On February 20, 2019, Samsung scheduled a press conference where the new Galaxy S10 series is expected; simultaneously the supposedly foldable smartphone will be presented, the Galaxy Fold.
