Winter has come to King’s Landing, the end of our heroes marks an unexpected outcome that may disappoint or surprise the majority of fans of the beloved HBO series. For now, we have seen Daenerys Targaryen ( Emilia Clarke ) fragile, without allies and now faced finally with Cersei Lannister ( Lena Headey ), in the last war, with the fate of Westeros at stake.
The final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones is finally closing. What should we expect from the latest adventure of Jon Snow ( Kit Harington ), Daenerys, Tyrion Lannister ( Peter Dinklage ) and any other person who is still lucky enough to be alive? Who will die this week? What monstrous turns have prepared the creators David Benioff and DB Weiss?
With Missandei ( Nathalie Emmanuel ) killed at the hands of Cersei, and Rhaegal the dragon, fallen in battle by the army commanded by Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), have been a great low blow for Targaryen forces, which worsened with the recent losses of Viserion, Jorah Mormont ( Iain Glen ) and half of the Dothraki forces and the Immaculate ones. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) also faced an existential crisis after learning of Jon Snow’s true identity and his legitimate right to the Iron Throne, even if he does not want it.
What is it to come for the destiny of Westeros, all the roads that lead to the King’s Landing will be decided in this last war. In today’s episode, it gives us an idea of the fate of Sansa ( Sophie Turner ), Bran ( Isaac Hempstead Wright ), Sam ( John Bradley ).
Like all the spectators we hope that the filtering of the script of the final episode is false and that the character of Daenerys, who has won to be queen, is not simply reduced to the element of “crazy queen, who will repeat the mistakes of her father”.
So far the strategy of showrunners of the series has failed in its attempt to give a satisfactory end to the eight seasons, the first five have been left to be, will they achieve with the last chapter close in an epic way?
