Microsoft Windows MR Headsets will get official HTC Viveport Store

HTC officially announced the release date of the Viveport store for users of virtual reality glasses on the Windows Mixed Reality platform. They will be able to buy games and arrange Viveport Infinity from June 5, 2019.

Viveport Infinity Subscription is the ability to use several hundred applications, games, and videos for VR-points by subscription. The purchase is accompanied by a monthly discount of 10% on purchases, as well as exclusive offers and discounts on weekends.

At the start of support, only 200 apps of the more than 600 releases will work with Windows MR. But Infinity remains attractive because it has no analogues. It is also important to note that HTC was able to present its own application store on all global PC platforms, including the Vive, Valve Index, Rift, and Rift S. line.

Windows Mixed Reality glasses are sold by Acer, HP, Asus, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung, so for Viveport developers, the support of a new platform can be a good expansion of the market.

Next June 5 comes the official support of Windows Mixed Reality to Viveport, the HTC content store that also offers compatibility with Rift and SteamVR. The titles with the official support of Windows MR can be in the usual purchase option as well as in the subscription service without Infinity limits. According to comments, there will be more than 200 games compatible with Windows MR in the catalog of the subscription, which is approximately one-third of the total.
