Amazon customers can now pick up orders at Rite Aid pharmacies

Amazon wants to add more than 1,500 package pickup locations in partnership with the national pharmacy chain Rite Aid. As of Thursday, customers will be able to pick up orders in more than 100 Rite Aid stores and jump to more than 1,500 by the end of the year.

The big retailers broadsided by the brightening of the rise of Amazon.com have discovered one advantage: physical places where customers pick up their stuff when they choose. Amazon is trying to compensate for advantage through partnerships, saying Thursday that in addition to Rite Aid, it is looking for more small-sized businesses as well as other big-chain allies to deal with those in a service-it’s vocation “to counter.”

Amazon is always cutting deals with large retailers to counter what has become a priority in the retail sector: convenience for customers. Next month, Kohl’s expand its partnership with Amazon when it starts to accept Amazon returns to all of its 1,150 stores.

The large retail stores, overwhelmed by the explosive growth of Amazon.com, have discovered that they have an advantage: physical locations where customers who prefer can pick up their orders.

Amazon tries to counteract this advantage through partnerships and said on Thursday that it is looking to partner with small and medium businesses, as well as large chains, heeding to their client call”Counter” Amazon will add more than 1,500 sites to collect packages in partnership with US pharmacy chain Rite Aid.  Starting on Thursday, customers can pick up their orders in more than 100 Rite Aid stores, a figure that will exceed 1,500 by the end of the year.
