Amazon Prime Day VR

As a part of Amazon’s upcoming Prime Day sale 2019 on July 15 and 16, Amazon will set up Virtual Reality (VR) based experience zones to users at select Indian cities. The cities including Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune come under the zone.

The Amazon VR experience zones open up to Prime members from July 6 to July 16 at select malls in the above-mentioned cities, the timings being 12 PM to 8 PM.

At these zones, Amazon Prime members would be able to view products through VR instead of images. The products can be seen in life-size and in the environment of the user’s choosing, and even be inspected up close.

For instance, the fittings of a dress can be viewed on a 360-degree hologram, intricate jewelery can be examined, the inside of a fridge can be observed by opening the door, and much more.

Moreover, clicking selfies, sharing one’s experience on social media with the tags #AmazonPrimeDay and #DiscoverTheJoyOfMore would even bring in prizes for lucky winners.

According to Akshay Sahi, Amazon India Director and Head of Prime-

We are proud to bring to customers a one-of-a-kind way to experience the exclusive product launches and entertainment we have lined up for Prime Day 2019. We wanted a way to showcase hundreds of exclusive launches and bring them closer to customers. Through virtual reality, we are able to highlight the products as well as allow customers to interact with them. We are bringing the fun back to shopping by allowing customers to fly through the world of Prime Day, stroll through its streets, play games and have an enjoyable experience. – Akshay Sahi

Amazon will launch 1000+ new products in honor of its Prime Day celebration by having partnered with popular brands including JBL, Sennheiser, Intel, Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, UCB, Marks & Spencer, Kate Spade, Mothercare, Nestle and many more. These products will be available to Prime members first.

Alongside this, 14 new Prime Video titles are going to be released in English, Hindi and 7 regional languages in the span of 14 days leading up to the Amazon Prime Day.

On that day, Prime members paying through HDFC Bank Debit and Credit Cards will receive a 10 percent instant discount, those paying through Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card will receive reward points, and those through other cards as well as Bajaj Finserv EMI cards can avail the No Cost EMI options.

The VR experience zones will be set up in the following malls –

  • Bengaluru- Phoenix Market City;
  • Chennai- Express Avenue;
  • Delhi NCR- Select City Walk and Ambience Mall;
  • Hyderabad-GVK One;
  • Kolkata- Mani Square; and
  • Pune- Amanora Mall.
