Today the certification of what appears to be a Bluetooth remote control created by OnePlus has been published. Although this remote control could be for anything, it seems quite likely that it will be for the next OnePlus TV.

The company confirmed last year that it would launch a television at some point this year but, since then, we have not had any news about this device. We also do not know if it will be launched globally or will be limited to certain countries.

The certification of this remote control is the first concrete track that OnePlus TV could arrive soon. OnePlus may announce the TV in October this year along with the “T” variants of its latest smartphones – possibly the OnePlus 7T Pro and/or the OnePlus 7T. A well-known source of leaks, Ishan Agarwal, has recently said that the TV launch is “not far away”, so it is possible that OnePlus will launch the television before October.

All we know about the OnePlus TV so far is that it will have a LED screen with 4K resolution, it will work with an operating system “from a large conventional provider” (which suggests that it will be Android) and will focus on the integration with smart products for the home.

The device is called RC-001A and among the options it will offer is having a direct access button to the use of Artificial Intelligence , an element that Peter Lau already indicated will be one of the most innovative and differentiating that OnePlus TV will offer (and, this will make the hardware that will be integrated in the Smart TV is powerful compared to what currently offer this type of products, and an example would be that it will have up to 4 GB of RAM).

There are not many specific details, but it seems almost certain that the television will have a camera with which videoconferences can be made and, even, it is not possible to exclude facial recognition as an option. The WiFi connectivity will be present at OnePlus TV (as well as Ethernet) and, of course, compatibility with HDR image quality is one of the options that will come in this Smart TV.
