Google has already sold out its Nest CAM IQ Outdoor, and they are planning a new lineup of security cameras for 2021. Nest announced the Cam IQ back in June 2017, and later that year in September, a Cam IQ Outdoor variant was unveiled.

The existing owners of the camera will receive ongoing feature support, software fixes and critical security updates. Furthermore, Google revealed that “Nest will keep investing in new innovations”.

Although no further information is available as of now, the company does provide a preview of what is to come. The search engine giant still sells the Nest Cam Indoor, priced at $129, the Nest Cam IQ Indoor priced at $299, and the Nest Cam Outdoor which is priced at $199.

The cameras’ IQ models come with upgraded video quality and AI-based features such as face and pet recognition. However, the current hardware of the cameras still come with the 2017 version of the same.

Google has confirmed that it will continue to support its existing Nest cameras through rolling out new features and security updates. As per Google’s report, whatever information is already available is mostly on the Nest cams that have sold out.

Google did not provide any details whatsoever on the upcoming Nest Cam lineup; neither did the company reveal when the new line will be available. However, this would not be the first time that Google has played this trick.

The Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 were revealed months ahead of their shipping date, while Google tweeted out an early picture of the Pixel 4 the year before to pre-empt inevitable leaks.

A recent FCC filing also reveals that Google is also working on a new Nest Hub with Soli radar gesture support.
