It has been almost over a year since the South Korean tech giant LG Electronics introduced a new kind of rollable TV that instantly caught everyone’s attention. After a year of this success, on December 8, the company launched yet another unique OLED TV.

What makes the new TV different is that the device comes with a slidable cover on top of it; that is, whenever the user needs to watch the TV, all they need to do is slide the top lid down to reveal the TV screen.

The way it has been advertised shows that the whole unit blends perfectly with the background, keeping up with the overall room aesthetic. The TV is called LG OLED Evo Object Collection. Other things that belong to LG’s Object Collection are refrigerators, washing machines, cordless vacuum cleaners, etc.

The body of the TV is placed on the floor. There is a metal frame behind the TV to support its frame. The infamous sliding cover can be controlled using a remote. LG Electronics has mentioned that even when the cover is placed on the TV, it would not affect the TV playback picture. The company explains that during particularly violent scenes on TV, the users can choose to cover the TV back up, and the playback will continue without any hassle.

The TV’s display screen is 65 inches, and the screen offers 4K resolution. Moreover, the users can also choose to use the TV as a speaker by keeping the cover on. The LG OLED Evo TV comes with 4.2-channel speakers with a total power of 80W.

The cover of the TV is made of the Danish textile brand Kvadrt fabric, and it is available in three colors: beige, light red, and green.  The TV is priced at 9.9 million won (approximately 53559 yuan) and will go on sale in South Korea on December 15, 2021.
