Today, the German multinational manufacturer of luxury vehicles and motorcycles, BMW, has released the official image of the new BMW iX M60, set January 5, 2022, as the officially launched date, during the CES Consumer Electronics Show. The report revealed that the upcoming automobile is the highest-performance version of the BMW iX car series.

Features

The upcoming BMW iX M60 is expected to have a retuned suspension, beefed-up brakes, aero components, and other enhancements found in a standard BMW M performance vehicle. The WLTP has a maximum cruising range of 575 kilometers and an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.8 seconds.

BMW Group claims it is methodically fine-tuning the iX’s chassis technology to fit the two motors’ “exceptionally dynamic performance profile” for the M60 model.

The target energy consumption rating for the Euro-spec iX M60 is 24.7-21.7 kWh/100 km (62 miles) (combined). According to Automotive News Europe, the top-of-the-line iX model will have a range of 575 kilometers (357 miles). The EPA-estimated range of the US-spec iX M60 is expected to be under 300.

The iX xDrive50 supports a peak charging power of 200 kW, which should also apply to the M60. In just 10 minutes, the iX xDrive50 can add up to 150 km (93 miles) of range in Europe and 56 km (90 miles) in the United States.

In the iX xDrive50, charging the battery pack from 10% to 80% takes less than 40 minutes, and fully charging the battery pack takes less than eleven hours.

The BMW iX M60 maintains the BMW iX’s style while adding M-exclusive lightweight front and rear surrounds, side skirts, and diffusers, among other features. Simultaneously, the body uses cement grey paint to make the vehicle look sportier.

The BMW iX M60’s interior features a dual-screen design for the complete LCD instrument panel and multimedia touch screen, as well as a built-in iDrive 8.0 car-machine system and a dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel.

The BMW Group has revealed that a third BMW iX version will be added to the lineup, which will sit between the 322 hp xDrive40 and the 516 hp xDrive50. It’s the ‘BMW iX M60,’ which has two motors that produce over 600 horsepower when combined (447 kW).

In all, the new BMW iX M60 is said to be fitted with a four-wheel-drive system consisting of front and rear twin motors.

Launch date and Price

According to the company, the new BMW iX M60 will be unveiled at the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2022) on January 5.

As previously expected, this could mean that the market launch may take place by mid-2022. It is reported that the company will also demonstrate exterior color-changing technology at CES 2022.

By June 2022, the new automobile will be delivered in the United States and it is expected to costs USD 84,195 (USD 83,200 MSRP + USD 995 destination), so expect it to cost well over USD 90,000 when it goes on sale in the United States.
