Today, the South Korean electronic giant, Samsung is adding a new smart monitor onto its lineup, equipped with 32-inch 4K resolution and Tizen OS.

This new M8 smart display, like previous firm models, provides smart TV-like capability, including access to streaming apps and the ability to plug into a computer like standard monitors.

The new smart monitor M8 adds to its capabilities, giving consumers more control at home, as well as a new level of game streaming experience and a moveable webcam, which it’s older brothers lacked.

The monitor’s 32-inch version costs KRW 850,000 (about $691) and has been offered exclusively through Kakao since March 7. The Smart Monitor M8 will be offered at various online and offline stores across South Korea starting tomorrow.

The Smart Monitor M8 is a 4K monitor featuring a QLED display, HDR10+ video playback, and a color gamut that covers 99 percent of the sRGB color space. It also has 2.2-channel stereo speakers and Adaptive Sound+ support. It has flicker-free viewing thanks to Eye Saver technology. The monitor boasts a small (11.3mm) profile and a height-adjustable stand with tilt functionality.

The new Smart Monitor M8 is powered by Tizen OS and can access all of the most popular audio and video streaming services. Bixby, SmartThings IoT Hub, and Samsung Health are all included. It’s even packaged with remote control. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 5, Wireless DeX, and Apple AirPlay 2 are all included.

For video conferencing, the Smart Monitor M8 incorporates a removable SlimFit Cam that supports Auto Zoom and Face Tracking.

The webcam on Samsung’s 11.4mm-thick smart display is magnetic and movable, allowing users to remove it away when not in use. They may also quickly connect it to the M8 while in a video meeting or on a call.

Not to mention that the SlimFit camera supports some of the most popular video chat apps, such as Google Duo. As previously reported, the SmartThings hub, which controls a wide range of approved smart devices, has been added to the new M8 monitor, giving consumers more control.

Apart from that, the M8 tries to improve its gaming experience with a new game streaming service that includes gamepad compatibility.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) honored Samsung’s new monitor with the ‘CES 2022 Innovation Awards Honoree’ award at CES 2022 earlier this year.
