Reports have revealed that the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.4 update that rolled out today, is crashing users’ experience after installing the new update.

This new update succeeded the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.3 update, featuring reaction notifications and messages management.

According to a Twitter post @WABetainfo, who confirmed development tweeted:

“I confirm that some users are experiencing random crashes after installing the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.4 update.

If you have updated, please wait for the next update as usual. If you are on 2.22.8.3, don’t update.”

@WABetainfo, however, urged users who have not updated to the latest version (WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.4 update) to stay calm on their previous update to avoid random crashes, while those who have updated should wait for the next update which will be released soon.

The latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.4 update was rolled out today featuring pause and resume voice recordings. Recall that about three weeks ago, the American social media platforms first introduced the pause and resume voice recordings features on the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.6.7 update.

The feature was blocked for everyone in the last WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.8.3 release, which also brings message reactions to select Android beta testers, for unclear reasons. For certain beta testers, the ability to pause and resume voice recordings has returned after installing the new WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.8.4 update.

In addition, WhatsApp is deactivating another feature: previewing photos and videos when sharing them as documents. This feature was added in the WhatsApp beta for the Android 2.22.5.11 update.

However, with the newest version, WhatsApp has suddenly disabled it. The document preview was broken when this function was introduced, which could be why WhatsApp is temporarily removing it.

Thus, this new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.4 update although featured exciting features for users, the random crashes will be its major setback as most users will not subscribe to the same.
