Google Calendar Glints With a New Feature That Announces Events Verbally

In its newest venture, the company has announced a critical new feature for the web version of Google Calendar, dubbed Announce Shortcuts, to assist visually impaired people in obtaining precise event details indisputably. In its blog post, Google untangles that by typing Alt + number on Windows and Alt + Shift + number on Chrome OS, the new feature will spell out the below-mentioned seven event details verbally.

According to a message from Google, “these shortcuts will perform a great role in assisting people with disabilities, and it enhances the fathomable. The shortcuts enable Calendar details to listen in the place of the error-prone expedition through a Brobdingnagian navigation system”.

The Announce Shortcuts feature can be accessible to all Google Workspace customers, legacy G Suite Basic and Business customers, and people with personal Google accounts. The tinge part started rolling out on September 27, 2022, and it will be completed in three days.

It is worth mentioning that Google Calendar already has a chunk of other keyboard shortcuts dedicated to aiding disabled people to use the service more effectively and efficiently. Users can glance at the list of all the available shortcuts by pressing Ctrl+/ on your Windows-powered Samsung Galaxy Book and Galaxy Chromebook.
