Screen sharing in Slack calls has become more interactive now! The new feature lets the users invite their colleagues to write or design – basically, work together on one shared screen.

When you are in a Slack call, hit the button that says ‘Share control of your screen.’ Then, each participant in the call will receive their respective cursor, alongside the abilities to – type, scroll, edit, and naturally click through any content on the shared screen.

While you are not in control, you can ‘temporarily draw over the shared screen.’ This will let others be attentive to anything you want to highlight on the screen.

In the past few months, the users contributing to the new feature’s beta test have found various usage methods. Therefore, you can provide remote access to your screen to techs for better IT troubleshooting. On the other hand, you can use it for pair programming.

Zapier, a software organization, depends on interactive screen sharing, making it easier for two or more employees to work together in triaging bugs or responding to customers.

Slack has quite a few third-party calling integrations like Google Hangouts, Blue Jeans, Zoom, and more – to offer the best choice for fast-forwarding team projects with teammates in remote places.

It is important to note that the new feature requires you to be on a paid plan that runs the updated Windows desktop app or the ‘direct download version of the Mac desktop app.’

Along with this feature, there are other calling features in the messaging platform, all of which are credited to the Screenhero team for the make. In case you are using Screenhero, check out details on how to wind it up or down on the Screenhero blog.

Learn more from the Slack Help Center or provide your feedback to feedback@slack.com. Share in the comments, if you are using the new feature, how is the experience of your team, and what other conveniences do you want in Slack.
