People around the world are getting creative amidst lockdown and are utilizing the time to learn something new or cook. However, all the free time kicks in the laziness in us and some people are tired of eating home-cooked meals. Before the lockdown home delivery services were soaring high, providing food at your doorsteps.

The lockdown demands that only necessary goods or shops be available during this time. However, some good news for all the people who want to life up their spirits and enjoy some delicious food. Plenty of restaurants and cafes are now offering to deliver food to your doorstep in this trying time.

However, it would be difficult for various restaurants and cafes to attract the attention of the people if they are not associated with any of the food delivery apps such as Just Eat, Uber Eats, Swiggy or Zomato. This is mainly due to the fact that the services would not be visible much to a wide spectrum of people.

To tackle this problem, Google has come up with another idea. The latest Google Maps update for iOS and Android now includes information on restaurants in your locality that are offering home delivery service.

The app now features a location filter at the top that includes options such as “delivery” and “takeaway”. Other services such as “petrol”, “groceries” can also be viewed through this app. Tapping the option that the user is looking for will enlist all the eateries in that area that are offering service at the time.

The results that come up are not always flawless but it reminds the user to re-check the location service and follow up if the area is serviceable. All the bits and pieces of tweaks aside, it is indeed a great way to crown your tastebuds with some tasty meals, and it will also keep those eateries afloat during this crisis.
