PayPay Card Becomes Accessible on Apple Pay From Today

Reports have revealed today that PayPay card is now accessible on Apple Pay starting from April 1.

Recall that last month, the Japanese electronic payment services issued a notice stating that there will be a revision in various membership agreements related to PayPay deferred payment.

Since then, the PayPay card has not been accessible on Apple Pay, but the electronic payment platform stated that from April 1, 2022 the various membership agreements regarding PayPay deferred payment/PayPay card will be revised and communicated.

Then, the notice urged customers who applied for a PayPay card from the web to check the membership agreement. While those who are using a PayPay card with postpaid registration should check the PayPay deferred payment member special contract and the consent clause regarding the provision of personal information from PayPay Co., Ltd. to PayPay Card Co., Ltd. to a third party.

Likewise, for customers who applied for PayPay deferred payment are the check the PayPay Postpaid Membership Agreement and consent clause regarding the handling of personal information.

However, the electronic payment platform has officially announced that the PayPay card is now available for Apple Pay.

According to the payment platform, since payment with Apple Pay is also covered by the PayPay Card Benefits, then if one uses a PayPay card with Apple Pay, one will earn 1% of the PayPay points used, just like when using it normally.

PayPay is a Japanese firm specializing in developing electronic payment systems. It was founded in 2018 as a joint venture between the SoftBank Group and Yahoo Japan through their holding company, Z Holdings. PayPay is the most popular mobile payment app in Japan, with 38 million users.

While Apple Pay, on the other hand, is a mobile payment and digital wallet service developed by Apple Inc. that allows users to pay in person, via iOS apps, and on the web using Safari. It works on iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and Macs. It isn’t available on any client device that isn’t an Apple product.
