Snapchat was the first to launch Stories, a feature that allows users to share ephemeral photographs or videos that vanish after 24 hours. The function was a huge hit with Snapchat users, and it helped the platform explode in popularity after its launch in 2013.
The popularity of Snapchat Stories prompted a slew of imitators, with Instagram launching a similar feature and WhatsApp adopting a Status feature.
Twitter has experimented with Fleets, its own equivalent of Snapchat Stories. Signal, a privacy-focused messaging software, is to be the next to add a story feature.
Within the latest APK of Signal, we have discovered some new strings related to an upcoming story feature. Reports have revealed that Signal’s story feature will be similar to Snapchat and Instagram Stories.
@Alessandro Paluzzi, a leaker, put the XDA Developers development code to the test and shared some photographs of Signal’s “Stories” feature. Users can pick between two sorts of Stories based on the images submitted by Alessandro Paluzzi: group Stories (Group Stories) and private Stories (Private Stories).
Group Stories, as the name implies, can be broadcast to existing groups, whereas private Stories can only be seen by persons the user chooses, which can be thought of as Instagram’s “Close Friend.”
Furthermore, according to the Signal development code shared by XDA Developers, users can select to conceal a certain user’s Stories, which means that the hidden user’s Stories will not appear in the Stories list.
The following strings imply that visitors will be able to respond to your tale (through emoji) and react to it. If you wish to, you can disable this from the options menu. When someone interacts or responds to your tale, you’ll be notified.
For the next 24 hours, whatever content you post to your narrative will be accessible to your Signal contacts. You can also add text or a URL to your tale, just like Instagram Stories.
You may also see how many people have looked at your story. There will also be the option to hide stories from certain individuals. Hidden stories will not appear at the top of the list of stories. Signal also appears to allow you to entirely eliminate the tale feature.
