After the Vol 1. of the season 4 was released back in the month of May, Stranger Things is back with Vol 2. The American science fiction horror drama tv series was created by the Duffer Brothers and the first season was streamed through the Netflix platform back in July of 2016.
Hawkins is the fictional town where Stranger Things takes place. At Hawkins, the Department of Energy runs a laboratory that secretly runs paranormal and supernatural experiments on human test subjects. Demogorgons and Mind Flayers start to disrupt Hawkins’ life when the lab creates a portal to an alternate dimension – the Upside Down. Some nerdy school kids discover Upside Down.
A girl named Eleven also escapes from the laboratory and joins the group as they search for a missing friend trapped in Upside Down.
As the season’s first volume began, the kids, now teenagers, were struggling to cope with life without each other. In the aftermath of their fight with Mind Flayer at the Starcourt Mall at the end of season 3, they dispersed. As a result of taking down Mind Flayer, Eleven lost her powers, and she moved to California with the Byers, including Will, Joyce, and Jonathan.
Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Max remain at Hawkins. Mike discovers all this while that Eleven has been bullied at school when he visits her during vacations. In contrast, Max is suffering from depression after losing her stepbrother Billy at the end of the third season. She also becomes the target of Vecna’s curse. Her friends save her by playing her favorite song while she enters Vecna’s Mind Lair, an imaginary place in her mind.
The trailer for Volume 2 surely left us hanging on the edge and fans couldn’t wait for its release. The rumors, predictions, and fan theories have been on a persistent roll since then. We can see from the trailer that the entire group makes it to Hawkins to confront the eerie events there. Nevertheless, Vecna seems to be stronger than ever. Eleven will also return from the lab after regaining her powers to save her friends from Vecna, and we will have some serious expectations going into the Eleven-Vecna showdown.
A lot of fans are already heartbroken as they are expecting the death of their favorite. Now with the release of Volume 2, it is to see if their skepticism comes true.
