Following Twitter boss, Elon Musk’s plan to retire the long iconic bird logo, Twitter rebrands to X in the Apple App Store. Just last week, we reported the micro-blogging platform unveiled the new logo X and said it will be moving from Twitter.com to X.com soon.

Before this moment, reports revealed that Apple has prevented Twitter from rebranding as X in its App Store. This action by Apple serves as a reminder of their stringent requirements for listing apps in their store. Apple’s requirement for a minimum of two characters forbids Twitter from showcasing their service under an alternative name, even though Twitter may have wished to.

Twitter Rebrands to X in the Apple App Store

The Twitter application has been renamed X in the Apple App Store today, which means that the company may have obtained special approval from Apple because the App Store has stipulated that the application name requires at least two letters. A recent tweet from Abhishek Yadav also affirmed the development.

Meanwhile, Twitter recently completely commenced the process of changing its name with Musk’s strong backing. The clients for iOS and Android are now known as X. However, some Apple customers have complained that Twitter’s previous name is still displayed in the Apple App Store.

Nick Sheriff, a product designer, previously claimed on Twitter that Apple forbids any iOS application from using a single character as the name. But if Twitter receives special approval, it would be the first time a business has done so since the inception of the App Store.

The current name of the application has been displayed as “X” after downloading/updating, and the application’s logo has also been changed. However, on the main screen of an iOS device, the application name can only be one character. Kindly, visit the App Store on your device to update to the new rebranding.
