Chinese mobile manufacturer Gionee has added a new device, S8, to its flagship S Series smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Thinking out of the trend, the device comes with dual WhatsApp and dual WeChat features for the users who have multiple accounts or share their device with their family members.
At the event, the company also unveiled its brand new logo with the tagline, “Make Smiles.” Gionee S8 has 3D Touch – yes, you heard the same name used in Apple’s iPhone 6S.
The phone has an in-built pressure-sensitive display, and some features on the phone are identical to the iPhone. If you used Apple, this feature might be familiar to you – Gionee S8 is the first phone to run the 3D Touch feature on Android OS.
The smartphone comes in three color variants – Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold colors and has slimmed metal design. The device measures 154.3×74.9x7mm and weighs 148 grams. The 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED device runs on the latest Android Marshmallow-based Amigo operating system packed with an Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor.
The smartphone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. According to the company, the device will have an external storage slot and the memory capacity can be expanded up to 200GB with a microSD card.
The mobile phone sports dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE for a faster internet connection. Keeping on the use of multimedia, the mobile manufacturer has built the more powered non-removable 3000mAh battery.
On the camera part, the device comes with 16MP primary camera enabled with auto-focus LED flash and an 8MP front-facing camera.
Gionee is popular in the mid-segmented market for its budgeted phone, but S8 costs 449 euros or around Rs. 34,000 and will be available by the end of March this year.
