We can assume now what the upcoming Moto will look like. With a weekend leak from HelloMotoHK, we might now be taking a look at this year’s Moto X, and Droid refreshes. The pictures of Moto X and Moto G were leaked on the internet around six months ago.
On Mother’s Day, a Google+ account HelloMotoHK, dedicated to Motorola-related devices, posted three new images, which seem to show a rendered version of the leaked 2016 Moto X and another that looks like a DROID variant that leaked last year. DROID series smartphones are licensed versions of Motorola hardware and generally come with Verizon, the largest wireless communication provider in the US.
The Moto X (2016) and its Droid counterpart both bear a protruding rear camera module with what appears to be a flat tire design similar to the Moto 360 smartwatches. The bottom bit is anticipated to house the dual-LED flash module. Other notable design choices include discrete volume and power buttons on the panel.
As per the leaked images, the front part of the Moto X might have a proximity sensor that has already been available in the last two variations. One of the most interesting parts of the render is on the opposite side of the camera bump: like Apple’s Smart Connector, the device probably comprises a dock connector. If we look closely at the back panel of Moto X, the speaker port doesn’t look like a speaker panel at all. However, it is not confirmed if the smartphone will have a fingerprint scanner – the button on the front hints at the same.
As with earlier years, it sounds as if Motorola will be offering each the Moto X and Droid lineups with a selection of customized colors and designs, courtesy of its in-style Moto Maker device.
