Xiaomi is reported to be launching a sub-brand named ‘lanmi’ to compete against the rivals Vivo and Oppo in the offline market. It was rumored that the first smartphone under the sub-brand would be called ‘Lanmi X1’. But according to recent leaks, the device will be named Xiaomi 5X and is to be launched on the 26th of July.

The new leaked poster suggests that Xiaomi 5X features a 5.5-inch display with Snapdragon 625 processor. It is to pack 4GB RAM and is to be priced at 1,999 Yuan (Rs. 19,999 approximately). While this is most likely to be a standard variant, earlier speculations point out that the first ‘Lanmi’ device would pack Snapdragon 660, 4GB/6GB RAM, and 64GB/128GB storage capacity.

The leaked poster also shows that the phone is packing a dual camera setup. Also, it reaffirms earlier rumors that the design would resemble the OnePlus 5 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. It is further confirmed that the Xiaomi 5X will operate on Android Nougat 7.1.1 with MIUI 9 atop. We may receive more information on specs and other details of the phone in the coming days.
