Apple AR Glasses

AR glasses are Apple’s new wearable, it’s a pair of glasses that make use of augmented reality tech. Apple ARKIT has the potential to bring augmented reality to the forefront of the consumers. So, if one wants to see how Apple’s augmented reality looks like then he needs to know about long-rumored Apple AR Glasses.

Reports suggest that AR Glasses are already under development and Apple has been working on it for a good while before this CES meeting. There is no fixed date yet, but it is reported to hit the market in 2020.

Today I can tell you the technology itself doesn’t exist to do that in a quality way… the field of view, the quality of the display itself, it’s not there yet.” “AR is going to take a while because there are some really hard technology challenges there – As claimed by Tim Cook, Apple CEO

The device is expected to be self-contained, operating without any paired iPhone. Apple AR Glasses are expected to feature its own display and processor as well as its own software platform – Reality Operating System (rOS), as it is not paired with any other Apple devices. Although the specifications are not known yet, it’s currently reported that Apple is experimenting with head gestures, Siri commands and touch panel.

While we don’t know much about this AR Glasses, it seems that Tim Cook is ardently supporting the technology as he commented: “it will change the way we use technology forever”. The pricing is also not fixed, and it is estimated somewhere between $500/$AU670/£400 and $1,000/£800/AU$1,300 but any changes could be possible.
