India is a country where residential address formats vary in terms of regions and localities. It becomes challenging to pinpoint locations differently. Google India, supporting its commitment to providing solutions to every challenge, has come up with new features.

One of the newnesses is the open-sourced solution called Plus Codes. It provides a simple as well as consistent addressing system in India and of course, globally. You can use this code on Google Search or Maps on mobile or desktop, and your asked location will be instantly shown. The likes of temporary events, guiding emergency services to afflicted locations, finding complicated addresses, and more can be easily done with this openly sourced feature.

Another of the features is just like adding new businesses to Google. Now you can easily add a missing address to Google Maps for verification. After Google ensures that the address is searchable, the addition will be confirmed. Local Guides points are rewarded for each valid submission.

Smart Address Search is the next innovative approach as a solution in counter to the challenges of finding complicated addresses in the country. This will be handy for users when they don’t have a specific address. The system will work just like a traveler in a new place would piece together every information relevant to their address! This includes nearby locations, business localities, and more.

Lastly, voice navigation of Google Maps India expands to six additional languages after Hindi and English. These Indian languages are Bengali, Kannada, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telegu.

Suren Ruhela, Director of Google Maps, wrote in his blog: “India continues to inspire us, and pushes us to reimagine what Maps can do for people.” Accordingly, he hinted of Google Maps’ new features coming towards users in the future.
