Education plays a great role in indulging a person. The upcoming generation will now be experiencing a new level of a classroom where age will be no bar. Microsoft with an intention to inculcate this vision has joined hands with Flipgrid. Flipgrid is a well-known video-based social learning platform and has made its journey over 180 countries and presently being used by 20 million subscribers.

Microsoft has initiated this plan as they want to provide Flipgrid free for schools. They have a social purpose to make the learning process in school easy and more interesting. Thus it seems the classrooms now will be upgraded to next level where each one will learn with the support of best technology.

This acquisition has been one of the best decisions by both the companies which we can easily make out through their official statements.

We’re thrilled to see the impact Flipgrid has had in social learning thus far and look forward to helping them continue to thrive as part of the Microsoft family. We’re diligently committed to making sure their platform and products continue to work across the Microsoft, Google and partner ecosystems to benefit students and teachers everywhere. – Eran Megiddio, Vice President Microsoft

Flipgrid has made its successful journey through many countries and still, they are climbing the graph. The company started in 2015 with a mission statement of empowering educators as they help students define their voices, share their voices and respect the diverse voices of others.

Microsoft recognized that Flipgrid will be the best tool which will furnish best quality education over the video-based platform. Mutually they want to extend support to help teachers and students’ social and emotional skills beyond curriculum with their tool. So together with Microsoft, they aim to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more.

The terms and policies state that Flipgrid will continue to retain its distinct brand even after its acquisition. Flipgrid will continue to align with Microsoft’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) compliant privacy architecture to ensure Flipgrid continues to be a safe, secure place for students and teachers to communicate.
