Xiaomi Mi A2 and A2 Lite Are Launching Live With Specs and Price Details

Xiaomi’s global launch event for Mi A2 and A2 Lite in Madrid, Spain, took place between 3 pm and 4 pm IST today, July 24.

Mi A2 is an Android One smartphone, bringing stock Android experience on board. In China, it is called Mi 6X. Mi A2 Lite is called Redmi 6 Pro. We received further details, specs, and prices of both smartphones.

Mi A2 sports a 5.99-inch LTPS IPS LCD display supporting 1080 x 2160 pixels with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. It will run MIUI 9.5 based on Android P and will be packing a non-removable 3000mAh battery.

For the camera, Mi A2 bears 12 MP and 20 MP sensors at the rear and a 20 MP front camera dedicated to selfies. Improved low light photography and better portrait selfies are two of the highlights, along with HDR support and semantic segmentation. The AI-driven Google Lens boasted in the device will provide information on images when you point the camera towards any object.

Mi A2 has its base variant of 4/32GB, priced at 249 Euros or around Rs. 20,000. Its second memory variant is 4/64GB, pricing at 279 Euros or around Rs. 22,500. The third variant of 6/128GB is priced at 349 Euros or around Rs. 28,000. There’s no microSD card slot for it to expand in terms of memory.

As for Mi A2 Lite sports, a 5.84-inch IPS LCD display supports 1080 x 2280 pixels with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It is fueled by Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. It runs MIUI 9.0 based on Android Oreo 8.1 or P and packs a bigger, non-removable 4000mAh battery.

In terms of camera, Mi A2 Lite has a dual rear setup of 5 MP and 12 MP sensors and a front camera into the display notch with a 5 MP sensor dedicated for selfies. AI portrait mode, PDAF, and several other modes by Xiaomi are infused into the setups.

The base variant of Mi A2 Lite is 3/32GB, that’s priced at 179 Euros or about Rs. 14,000. The other variant of 4/64GB is priced at 229 Euros or about Rs. 18,000. It is expandable via microSD up to 128GB.

Both the devices have a fingerprint reader on the rear panel and are available in the following color options: Black, Blue, and Rose Gold.
