Samsung Galaxy A90 to be the first to get a scrollable pop-up camera

Feb 21, 2019, 8:45 am

Last year, several smartphones were released in China with a so-called pop-up camera. Think of the Vivo NEX, Oppo Find X and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Some are manual to operate, others have an automatic slider camera. It is as yet unknown for what a design Samsung will choose, the above image is therefore only for illustration.

Just like the A9 of last year, the new Samsung Galaxy A90 will probably have four cameras at the rear. The Galaxy A9 is for the time being the only smartphone worldwide that has a quad-camera.

The Galaxy A9 Pro, which was introduced at the beginning of this year, seems to have a lot in common with the A9, but this smartphone has a totally different design. This is the first Samsung phone with a punch-hole camera (hole in the display). This smartphone has ‘only’ two cameras at the back. The Samsung A90 seems to be the actual successor of the A9 2018.

Galaxy A90 gets an in-display fingerprint scanner

At the beginning of this year, there was also a rumor from Korea that the device will have a fingerprint scanner in the display. The Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, which will be introduced later today will be the first Samsung smartphones with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is possible that the Galaxy A50 and A70 will also have a similar fingerprint scanner.

The Galaxy A9 was unveiled in October 2018. It is still unclear when the Samsung Galaxy A90 will be introduced, the chances are that we have to wait until the second half of 2019. First, the A10, A30, and A50 are expected. Of these smartphones, all specs have recently leaked.
