After the period of registration for the new EMUI 10 beta on the Honor 9X series, the company finally launched the new EMUI internal beta on December 16, 2019, in China.

The registration for the beta was open from December 6 to December 15, 2019, and was followed by the official announcement regarding the launch of the EMUI 10 beta. The new internal beta is available on Honor 9X and 9X Pro series from December 16 onwards.

This update will reportedly bring a series of functional upgrades to the 9X series smartphones. The changes will include user interface design, the magazine-style UI layout, the Morandi UI color system, and the new Dark Mode. Along with these, the beta version will also offer GPU Turbo, Link Turbo, Connected Voice, and the Ark compiler to the Honor 9X series.

Although several Huawei phones run on Android 10 nowadays, Huawei has chosen to infuse their self developed UI in their latest smartphones.  The company has been working on its take on Android for a long time and developed EMUI or Emotion UI to power up their devices. The new Honor 9X series smartphones, which were launched previously in July this year, will now get the company’s self-developed EMUI 10 beta internal update starting December 16, 2019.

Honor 9X series comes with a 6.59-inch full-screen, equipped with a front lifting camera and a screen ratio of 92%. It also adopts the integrated design of fingerprint keys and power keys.  It comes in two variants – 9X and 9X Pro and both of them have a 7nm process Kirin 810 chip along with 4000mAh battery backup.

In terms of cameras, the Honor 9X has 48MP dual rear cameras; Honor 9X PRO has three rear cameras, including 48MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle lens and 2MP pixel depth of field lens. The smartphones also come with AIS Super Night View 2.0, Gaming+, GPU Turbo 3.0, The NINE liquid cooling, UFS 2.1 storage (available only for 256GB variant).

The Honor 9X series phones were previously powered by EMUI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie. However, they will now get the EMUI 10 internal update starting December 16, 2019. We have high expectations of this update looking back at Huawei’s previous achievements.

However, a comparison will be drawn between the EMUI 10 and Android 10 in the near future and we still have to wait and see how much it gets success after its testing period.
