On 30th May, the famous Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi posted what appears to be a mysterious yet interesting photo of a device on the Chinese social network, Weibo. The post was made by Xiaomi’s new product director, Wang Teng Thomas. Since the post was posted by Thomas, by means of association, the netizens have reasons to believe that the photo is of a new device by Xiaomi.

The photo is of a smartphone, and some rumors are circulating that it is the photo of a cheap Redmi 9 minus the 5G support. However, what drove everyone into a frenzy was the fact that the smartphone has not been officially introduced or announced by the company. Its impressive size is one of the first few things that anyone would notice, and the whole ensemble is hidden inside a special phone case that gives more protection to the smartphone than any other case available.

In fact, the famous informer who specializes in bringing forth the upcoming devices, Mukul Sharma drew attention to this device. Most of his sources are authentic and reliable. His famous leaks include the Redmi K20 and Meizu 16XS smartphone.

Mukul Sharma mentioned that the new smartphone is from Xiaomi; however, he further added the Redmi tag. Another reliable leak source, the Chinese informant Digital Chat Station also predicted the same. This source noted that this device is an entry-level Redmi smartphone without support for fifth-generation 5G cellular networks, but only with 4G support. Another social news resource almost revealed the same information but mentioned that the product is Redmi 9 4G.

According to a few preliminary data available, Redmi 9 will receive a huge screen and a 5000 mAh battery. As mentioned before, the phone is bigger in size, and as such, the smartphone is likely to feature a display screen of either 6.6-inches or 6.67-inches.
