Netflix is planning to launch the audio-only background playback in its android app soon. This feature will allow saving internet packages, besides allowing the users to listen to the audio while doing other chores.
XDA developers in October had found out this newly arriving feature of Netflix in an app teardown, though it wasnt available for use to the users. The server side roll out has enabled this feature to be usable to the first few subscribers. The new Video-off button will be seen at the top of the full-screen video player.
By tapping the button, one can enable the blank screen with the audio-only feature in play. Scrub bar, forward and backward tabs, speed controllers, and other playback controls, including the brightness and so on, will also be there during the audio-only playback feature.
With this new audio-only option the settings also allow a pop-up window whereby the user can choose how one can use the mode- Always/ Headphone mode/ External Speakers/Off.
Therefore, this feature will not be handy for those shows, depending largely on actions, visuals, and graphics. Still, comedies, rom-coms, sit-coms, and other story-telling based shows can be accessed easily using this feature. The subtitles of the audio might also be available sooner.
Thus the users must keep their app in their accounts updated thoroughly to get this fresh feature launched in their apps and this will soon be available on those willing to download the same from the APK mirror and Playstore to use the new features to their benefit.
Thus this will be useful for those who are busy with their daily chores but do not want to miss out on their favorite episodes, and thus they will be benefitted immensely from this while just plugging in their earphones.
They will be able to work and listen to their episodes simultaneously, which will be relaxing for them. When will Netflix launch the same is still under speculation and might come soon.
