It seems Apple is working on its AirPower yet again, years after the buzz around the AirPower had died down. It appeared that the company has stopped working on it, but recent posts and leaks show that AirPower is getting ready for its release sometime this year.

Komiya has taken to Twitter and has tweeted a concept photo of what the AirPower box might look like, and what to expect from this box. It should be mentioned that Apple is gearing up to introduce and launch its iPhone 12 this year, and that event could serve as the perfect platform to introduce AirPower.

Apple had registered the product at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as far back as 2019, and according to a source, this week, the company received the patent for the smart wireless charging battery case.

“A battery case has first and second coils on opposing sides of a battery and has switching circuitry that is coupled between the first and second coils. The battery case has a battery that provides supplemental battery power wirelessly to a wireless power receiving device via the second coil when the switching circuity is in an open state. The case can also receive power wirelessly with the first coil from a wireless charging mat when the switching circuitry is in the open state. In a closed state, the switching circuitry shorts the first and second coil together so that current flowing through the first coil flows through the second coil in series and so that wireless power from the wireless charging mat that is received with the first coil is transmitted to the wireless power receiving device using the second coil,” reads the Apple patent application.

As per Komiya’s tweet, the netizens could expect an Apple AirPower, Instructions, a 30W charger, and a 2m USB-C cable inside the AirPower Box. This could be priced at $200.
