To add your ID card to the Wallet app on your iPhone, you’ll need to go through verification, which is designed to prevent users from stealing identification documents. Selfie validation isn’t new; some banking apps utilize it to verify users on new devices; nevertheless, Apple has created its own approach based on iPhone technologies.
However, the procedure isn’t the same as simply taking a selfie. It’s similar to how Face ID works, where you have to swivel your head in various positions for the iPhone to recognize your face. Here, animations will show you how to take pictures of your face in various poses, such as gazing sideways, raising your eyebrows, opening your lips, and smiling.
The findings will then be examined on the device according to portions of the code, and the setup will be completed. You’ll be able to use your ID card solely with Face ID to validate your identity after it’s been integrated into the Wallet app.
Apple has said that the ability to link your ID card to Apple Wallet will be available to some US residents later this year.
