Reports have revealed today that the upcoming Apple iPhone 14 Max will be at least 1,300 yuan cheaper than the Pro Max, and the basic version will miss the 48MP main camera and A16 chip.

Apple is still working on satellite connectivity, according to Gurman’s weekly “Power On” newsletter. In the iPhone 14 Series, he also discussed how Apple would further differentiate its Pro and non-Pro devices. The new 48-megapixel wide-angle camera will only be available on the Pro versions, while the ordinary iPhone 14 will keep the same 12-megapixel camera as the iPhone 13 series.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, also speculated on this possibility. He predicted that Apple’s iPhone 14 series non-Pro models might stick to last year’s A15 or A15 fine-tuned version, while the Pro models would have the new A16 processor. A global shortage of chips, according to Gurman, was a significant reason for the decision, in addition to increasing the disparity.

He further mentioned that the new “iPhone 14 Max” would bring a larger 6.7-inch display to the non-Pro line of iPhone 14 models, which will be at least $200 less expensive than the sole existing Pro Max option with a 6.7-inch iPhone.

Similarly, the upcoming iPhone 14 series models will have a design that is quite similar to the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, with the Pro series having a new punch-hole screen design that includes a pill-shaped punch-hole for Face ID and a new punch-hole design. The exclamation mark screen emerges from the spherical hole used for facial recognition.

In addition, to accommodate the additional sensors, the iPhone 14 series cameras would have more exaggerated bumps.

Gurman added that Apple intended to include the satellite communication feature in the iPhone 13 series models. Still, it was not included for whatever reason, but it will be included in this year’s iPhone 14 series product line. In circumstances where data networks are unavailable, the satellite communication feature is designed to transmit text messages to emergency contacts, and Apple Watch will acquire satellite communication in 2022 or 2023.

Globalstar Inc., a satellite business, is alleged to be behind the rumor. Globalstar said in February that it had secured an agreement with unnamed customers to deliver continuous satellite service via 17 new satellites. The client has paid out hundreds of millions of dollars.

Earlier this month, we reported that the American tech giant will update front-facing cameras on the upcoming iPhone 14 series and is set to unveil the smartphone in the last quarter of this year. Stay connected with Techgenyz for more updates on the upcoming Apple smartphone.
