Today marks another milestone in the India tech space as Xiaomi unveiled multiple devices in a product launch conference tag: “Innovation for a Brighter Future.” The devices include Xiaomi Smart TV X Series, Redmi Watch 3 Active, Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphones 2 and the Redmi 12 smartphone series. Now, let’s take a tour of all the devices one after the other.

Redmi 12 Smartphone Series

The Redmi 12 entered the market in two series: 4G and 5G model. As seen from the image, the “glass design back” on the smartphone is a first for a Redmi smartphone, according to Xiaomi.

The Redmi 12’s glass back, according to the brand, has the best scratch resistance in its class. The phone appeared to withstand a thorough scratch test method just well in a showcase video.

Redmi 12 4G and 5G Model Compared

The 6.79-inch 1080p display on the Redmi 12 4G gives it a similar appearance to the 5G model. It is powered by the Mediatek Helio G88 SoC and has the same IP53 rating. Its rear panel is made of glass. The smartphone has a 5,000 mAh battery as well, and its USB type-C connection supports 18W rapid charging. The Redmi 12 4G includes a triple camera system with a 50 MP wide-angle lens, a specialized ultra-wide angle lens, and a macro lens, in contrast to the Redmi 12 5G.

Unlike the 4G model, the Redmi 12 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, a one-of-its-kind in a budget smartphone. It has up to 8GB of RAM with an extra 8GB of virtual RAM. It comes with 128GB and 256GB storage options with extendable 1TB storage with a microSD card.

A 50MP camera and a 2MP depth sensor are both present on the rear of the Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G. You have an 8MP front-facing sensor for selfies. Additionally, this is the first Redmi smartphone to feature a camera film filter. The Redmi 12 5G now has some of the portrait mode processing power of the Xiaomi 13 Pro.
