New RedmiBook to launch in China on May 26; features AMD Ryzen 4000 series

Xiaomi has been in talks for quite some time now, and according to famous general consensus the Chinese smartphone manufacturer was reportedly working on two new products, the RedmiBook laptop, and a new Redmi 10X smartphone. Now a few reports have been published which have located the launch date of the devices.

As per the reports, Redmi will be launching the brand new RedmiBook laptops, along with the new smartphone in China on May 26 2020. The General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing announced the news of the launch.

Ahead of its launch, key specifications of both the laptop and the smartphone have leaked online, although this would not be the first time to happen so. A Chinese eCommerce website has revealed the key specs and details of the upcoming devices.

Now coming to the laptop, RedmiBook – the website listed that the laptop will come in three models, and the key specs of the two of them have been leaked. Both the models leaked carry 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. The RAM here is said to be DDR4 in make and clocked at 2666 MHz. The leak also points out that storage on-board will be 512GB PM881 Samsung SATA SSD.

The website has also listed under the hood specs. It reveals that the RedmiBook will run on the Ryzen 5 4500U processor from AMD. The processors will come with a refresh rate of 2.4GHz, and it supports a turbo clock speed of 3.9GHz. The second model of which more details are known is said to come with a copy of the 64-bit version of Windows 10.

The other one leaked online is the more powerful of the two, and it runs on the eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor. This version, like the other one, will also be running a 64-bit version of Windows 10.
