In recent years, OnePlus and OPPO have been reportedly working together to develop foldable devices. Some rumors suggest the device to be the upcoming OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3, while others couldn’t ascertain any device. In a surprising turn of events, leaked images have now confirmed what many tech enthusiasts had suspected: the OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 are, in fact, the same phone with different branding.
The leaked images were surfaced by Tipster Abhishek Yadav via his X handle (formerly Twitter). In the tweets, the tipster uncovered different colors of the device, including an advertising poster from OPPO with the caption,
“An Instant Classic: A striking cosmos ring meets elevated styling to create a timeless aesthetic.”
This revelation has sent shockwaves through the smartphone industry, raising questions about transparency and competition in the market.
As shown in leaked images, the device features a sleek, curved display with minimal bezels, a triple-camera setup on the rear, and a unique gradient finish on the back panel. Even the positioning of buttons and ports matches perfectly.
In a similar vein, Pete Lau, the founder of OnePlus and SVP and CPO of OPPO, has previously confirmed that the Open and Find N3 are indeed the same handset. According to him, the two brands worked together to create the upcoming book-style foldable and are launching it simultaneously. The Open will be OnePlus’s first foldable, while the Find N3 will be OPPO’s third book-style foldable. It’s been rumored that the OnePlus Open and the OPPO Find N3 are the same device.
Previous leaks have suggested that the device will have the highest pixel density of any folding display on the market right now. This display is anticipated to have a 7.82-inch screen with a 2,268 by 2,440 resolution. The exterior display, meanwhile, may measure 6.31 inches and have a 2,484 x 1,116 resolution. The hinge on this foldable will be a significant upgrade over the Find N2, in addition to the display. According to Lau, the Find N2’s hinge will supposedly be 37% smaller.
Additionally, there will be 31 fewer components, which should make the smartphone stronger and lighter. A standard from OnePlus will also be included in the new foldable. Lau affirmed that an alert slider will be available on the upcoming gadget. The OnePlus Open/OPPO Find N3’s official price and release date are yet unknown.
