As scheduled, Redmi is bringing back the popular K-series phones in the Indian market, beginning with the new Redmi K50i. The launch event for the new Redmi K50i begins at exactly noon IST.
In 2019, the Chinese mobile brand introduced the K20 and K20 Pro in the same devices, offering the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor for Rs 27,999 with a premium glass design.
However, the new Redmi K50i 5G comes with upgraded latest technologies over the previous models. Now, let’s take a tour of the design and specifications of the next-generation smartphone.
Specifications
The Redmi K50i 5G has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD FH+ display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,460 pixels. The display’s refresh rate is 144Hz, and the touch sampling rate is 270 Hz. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 chipset, which is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The device has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The device will most likely have a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The new Redmi K50i 5G also featured an IP53 dust, splash resistance body, and a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. The smartphone runs Android 12 out of the box and is powered by a 5,080mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
Launch Price and Availability
The Redmi K50i 5G comes in two RAM and storage configurations: 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, with prices starting at Rs 25,999 and Rs 28,999, respectively. The smartphone will be available for purchase beginning July 23 through Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home Stores, and other channels.
As part of launch offers, ICICI Bank cardholders can get up to Rs 3,000 on the purchase. Redmi K20 Pro owners who trade in their device for the K50i will receive an Rs 8050 discount.
