Since the official release of the Redmi K60 series last year, POCO, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, has been reportedly planning to unveil a new smartphone rebadged as the Redmi K70. Some rumors have reported it to be the upcoming POCO F6 in the Indian market, while others have reported it without a model name.

However, in an exciting turn of events, the POCO F6 has been confirmed to be the Redmi K70 rebadged as it successfully secured the coveted Indian Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. This development has sent ripples of excitement through the Indian smartphone market, with many speculating that this new device could be none other than the upcoming POCO F6.

A leaked image that confirmed this development revealed the device to come with 2311DRK48I as the model number for the India version, while the China and/or global variant has 2311DRK48C as the model number.

Redmi K70 BIS Certification

The news of the BIS certification was revealed by the renowned tipster Mukul Sharma, who goes by the handle X (formerly Twitter). Sharma, known for his accurate leaks and insights into the tech industry, took to his social media platform to announce this significant development. His post created a buzz among tech enthusiasts and POCO fans alike.

While details about the POCO F6 remain limited, the device is believed to carry the legacy of its predecessors, known for its high-performance features and affordability. It is speculated to feature the powerful hardware and innovative features that have become synonymous with POCO smartphones.

Previous rumors state that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU will power the Redmi K70. It will also enable 90W cable charging and draw power from a 5,500mAh battery. It is rumored to have a design akin to the Xiaomi 13T series when it arrives. Finally, it should be noted that the phone has an excellent price-to-performance ratio and might be released in China as early as this month.
