The Digital Assistant space is becoming more competitive – Now, Apple has also made its way that could take on Amazon’s Echo. According to some reports, Apple is developing a brand new language API that could power the upcoming Echo-Competitor and Google Home.

Earlier, some rumors suggested that Apple is working on a product that could take an Amazon Echo. A recent Tech Insider report states that the company plans to integrate facial recognition technology on its digital assistant device.

Apple users are well aware of a digital assistant through Siri, a voice-enabled computer program that works as an intelligent personal assistant and knowledge navigator built-in iOS devices. The camera in the Echo product seems to have a next-generation language API that could further improve the product and which interacts with the device via an enhanced version of Siri.

Apple Siri

It was in talks that Apple is planning to capture digital assistant market since it acquired VocalIQ in October 2015, a UK-based startup for researching the natural language, belief tracking, decision making, and message generation. Apple hoped to use this technology in car project, codenamed “Titan” and might introduce the API in its Echo competitor.

To understand the competitive edge of the product the company has been testing VocalIQ against Siri, Echo from Amazon, Google Now and Cortana by Microsoft and VocalIQ has proved to be vastly superior in dealing with complex natural language queries. In the case of other assistants like Hound, Siri would make you start the search session over again like human VocalIQ remembers all the things. It also figures out the exact voice what you are saying from the noise in an environment.

Since there is no official confirmation from Apple we need to wait until Apple’s reported plan to launch the product either later this year or at some point next year.
