SpaceX and Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk unveiled that currently 1,469 Starlink satellites are active, alongside 272 are moving to orbits. The satellite’s laser link is likely to be activated soon.
Elon Musk plans to construct unimaginable internet connectivity controlled by thousands of satellites with Starlink. The satellite is launched into orbits to provide blazingly fast internet service to the customers living on the earth. People in the tech industry named these satellites as constellations ( group of stars zodiac).
Until November last year, SpaceX welcomed nearly 11,000 monthly users; it began its service in 2020. In 2021, Starlink will greet roughly 500,000 users in less than 12 months, and also Starlink has expanded its network to 12 countries. In December last year, SpaceX reported that the shortage of Semiconductors had affected the production of the Starlink user terminals.
“We’re, I think, on our way to having a few hundred thousand users, possibly over 500,000 users within 12 months,” Musk said. In July last year, Musk announced that laser links in orbit could decrease the ratio of Long-distance latency by 50 percent, which is possible due to the higher speed of light in the Vacuum and shorter path.
As Elon Musk’s SpaceX received a considerable expansion, a recent survey reported that the satellite internet section of the company had surpassed 1,45,000 users globally. Starlink has seen a shipment of 1,00,000 terminals to users previously.
According to the company, the project focuses on developing internet connectivity through a constellation of satellites. A SpaceX rocket is gearing up to launch a new Starlink satellite into Orbit tonight on January 17.
