In less than 48 hours after Xiaomi retired the MIUI operating system, the Chinese mobile brand has confirmed today that the Xiaomi 14 Series with Hyper OS will be launching in China on October 31st. A leaked launch poster image has ignited the curiosity of device enthusiasts, offering a sneak peek at what’s in store for Xiaomi’s next-generation smartphone lineup and its proprietary operating system.

The poster image shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav in a recent tweet confirmed the coming of the new device and operating system this month.

For more than 13 years, Xiaomi has been using the UI in its smartphones and tablets but recently revealed that it will replace it with MIUI. However, just this week, the Chinese brand announced that it will soon retire both the UI and MIUI and introduce the new HyperOS with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series of phones.

Xiaomi’s Hyper OS

According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, this new OS will debut in the next Xiaomi 14 series, an intriguing development. The company’s goals have advanced significantly with the start of production. Lei Jun added that MIUI would progressively be replaced by HyperOS on older devices that use MIUI.

Whether Xiaomi is moving towards an OS based on the Android version with HyperOS, such as ColorOS, OxygenOS, OneUI, and Funtouch OS, which annually enhance their software while preserving the latest Android version as their foundation, is another intriguing feature. Reports indicated that Xiaomi may have taken design cues from Huawei’s Harmony OS by implementing AOSP and a tiny kernel.

The Xiaomi 14 Series

Recently, the full specs of the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series have been leaked, suggesting that the phone would probably debut with a new operating system.

The device is expected to include a 6.44-inch Huaxing C8 OLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,800 nits of peak brightness, and support for Dolby Vision. It is anticipated that it will be driven by the as-yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, together with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

Additionally, the Xiaomi 14 series is rumored to include Leica-branded cameras, similar to the Xiaomi 13 devices. A 50-megapixel OV50H primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a second 50-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a third 50-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens are expected to make up its triple rear camera system. According to reports, the base model’s 4,600mAh battery might support 90W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

In just a few weeks, all eyes will be on China as Xiaomi takes the stage to reveal its latest offerings. Tech enthusiasts and consumers alike eagerly await the official details of the Xiaomi 14 series and the highly anticipated Hyper OS 1.0. Until then, the leaked launch poster image is all we have to fuel our excitement and imagination. Thus, stay connected with TechGenyz for updates.
